Information
Isca has about 1550 inhabitants and is divided between Isca superiore, the village on the hills 3 km from the sea and Isca marina the village near the sea and along the centosei ( 106 ), the coastal road .
Isca is originally Greek ( Magna Grecia ) and offers besides the vast beaches of fine sand and blue sea also above 1000 meter high forested mountains ( Le Serre ) .
The coast of Catanzaro ( nearest large town 50 km ) towards Isca is also called the Costa degli Aranci because of the many orange groves along the coast . Isca superiore is located at 188 meters altitude. The sun rises from the Ionian Sea and in the evening disappears behind the mountains .
By car , it is less than an hour’s drive (70 km ) from the airport of Lamezia Terme, thanks to the new highroad. Here lands the national airline the whole year , but there are also many charter flights during the summer season, which runs from the beginning of April till late October .
